Michael Barnes
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Michael Barnes is a husband, Navy veteran, and faith-driven leader with a passion for helping people hear God's voice in every season of life. After nearly a decade of military service specializing in communications and technology, Michael combined his background in technology and leadership with his heart for ministry to launch Words In Season, a platform built to deliver timely, Scripture-based encouragement through the power of technology.
Grounded in his belief that innovation and faith can work hand in hand, Michael oversees the vision and spiritual direction of the company, ensuring every message sent reflects both biblical truth and genuine care for the person receiving it. His goal is simple: to use modern tools like AI and mobile messaging to make the timeless Word of God more personal and accessible.
In addition to leading Words In Season, Michael serves in young adults ministry, where he mentors and equips emerging leaders to live out their faith with purpose. He's passionate about family, personal growth, and helping others grow in their faith.
Trent Corrill
Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer
Trent Corrill is a husband, software engineer, and faith-driven innovator who's passionate about using technology to help people encounter God's Word in meaningful ways. Before co-founding Words In Season, Trent spent several years building large-scale systems for one of the nation's leading retail organizations, gaining experience that would later serve as the foundation for the platform he now helps lead.
When a sudden career shift left him wondering what was next, Trent experienced an unexpected peace that he knew could only come from Christ. A few days later, Trent received a message from his brother-in-law, Michael Barnes who asked if he could help him build an app. As Michael shared the vision for Words In Season, Trent instantly recognized God's hand in it and knew he was meant to be part of it.
